Potential of Energy-Saving Air Compressors

Air compressors are commonly known as "power tigers", indicating that they are among the most energy-consuming devices in any company. This highlights their immense energy-saving potential and the significant economic benefits arising from saved energy. Implementing energy-saving modifications to air compressors carries profound implications. For enterprises, it can markedly lower operating costs and elevate production efficiency; for society, it can conserve substantial coal resources, reduce carbon emissions, protect the environment, and contribute to energy conservation and emission reduction. In China, the annual electricity consumption of air compressors accounts for about 10.2% of the total national power generation, with the annual electricity consumption of air compressors estimated to be around 74,170 * 10.2% = 756.5 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) based on the power generation in 2020. If the energy utilization efficiency of air compressors is increased by 15%-25% through the adoption of first-class energy efficiency air compressors, energy-saving audits and retrofits of compressed air systems, utilization of waste heat and pressure, contract energy management, and other methods, then 113.5 billion to 189 billion kWh of electricity will be saved annually.
